So... I lost my colored pencils. This page was completed with my leftovers... yeesh. I'm now at a crossroads: learn photoshop super fast or buy more colored pencils. What do you think?
All grown up now and running a store. her aunt must be old now could take her a wile to get down there.
If you can lean Photoshop really fast I would vote for that, the paint bucket will save you strain on your wrist. and you wont need to buy pencils ever again!(coloring was actually the largest reason why I switched)
Photoshop coloring super-fast for scanned stuff: Use the "Darken" setting of the brush.
Try it out, I'm not really sure if it was a way that worked, but it's not like you'll lose anything by trying. (Maybe a minute or two, at most)
Maybe not photoshop per say, but a photoshop style app on my tablet... my method is convoluted, but I think I can manage for the time being if you can manage my first few digital pages while I try out my styles. That means Friday will be digital, and if all goes well, I'll redo this page and the cover digitally as well. I think with them growing up, my art should as well, right?
The pencil look adds an unusual touch though.
I'd say if you get Photoshop, colour a large area of paper as uniformously as possible in pencil, scan it, set it to grayscale, and save it to use as a texture over the electronically painted areas. That way you'd still have that cute, unique look!
(It's no obligation though :P)
I have no experience with Photoshop so don't look at me! Try it if you think it's best but what ever you do, I'll still be here. Waiting for the next update.
Holy cow, did I miss a few comics? *flaps back* only missed one...
You could try using Photoshop to color over the image on a separate layer, then convert the later to a "multiply" layer which would merge the colors in with the pencil/pen work pretty smoothly. The only problem is you cant use paint bucket, so making things look neat takes a LOT of tedious detailing to color in the corners and line edges. You can see the result of doing that method here: http://sarakleeyo.thecomicseries.com/comics/32/ However that was my old way of coloring things.
Using Sai+photoshop makes things look much nicer. The stuff I did for that one comic of yours was with those two. Its real easy to do. A little time consuming, but real easy. let me know if you are ever interesting in trying it. I can share what methods I use.
I think where I'm at right now, I need to stick with my colored pencils. Going to buy some tomorrow... :/
Please continue ur story !! I love it
I will get u pencils!!
Stay with your colored pencils, it gives your comic a unique look.

In choice of Photoshop style or pencil, i'd say go for Photoshop style to learn new, but if doesn't feel right to you, stay with pencils :)
