CT fans! I'm not going to lie, I'm hugely disappointed in the Mavelyre/Daktyls plotline. You may have noticed from my messy post schedule and prolonged break, but I was having some pretty major life issues while I was working on that section, and the comic was placed so far on the back burner, it might have fallen off. I had a multitude of ideas for that section of the comic, but my final draft was none of them. So I rewrote the entire thing (the script, so far). My question to you: should I pause the comic and redo that part now, or should I round out the chapter then post the correct version? Please comment here or tweet me or Facebook me or something. I want to know what you want to see! Thanks! I <3 you!

Always a tough choice that.
When it come down to it i would say look long and hard at your options and choose the one that you doubt less.

So far i find the comic worth waiting for and im sure it will be this time as well.

Don't get yourself stuck in an arc you no longer want to do. That's how you come to dread working on your own comic and burn yourself out. This comic is fan work, not official work that has to be super strict with its consistency.

If the rest of the story is how you want the arc to run then round it out and do the rewrite of the Mavelyre/Daktyls part in your spare time.

What feels right to you? As a longtime (lurking) reader, I've enjoyed the comic however you've chosen to write it. This is your baby! Present it any way you want, and I'll be right there, happy to read it :)

If it's reader feedback you want, well, for me, we've moved in from that bit, so I'm quite happy to finish out the chapter and then revisit the corrected bits after that - that way they are a nice bonus read.

This is a lovely comic, I enjoy your style, I really like the art, and I think most of your audience is quite forgiving and supportive, as they should be! Your comic is a gift to all of us, we aren't paying for it, therefore I hope you feel free to engage with your art and your audience on whatever terms work for you.

Thank you for the lovely gift of CT. I really appreciate it, and you.

Although the story didn't go where you expected to go, doesn't mean the story you have is bad! I say move on and if you feel you need to add it, perhaps show them in a future story in the way you want them to, without changing what you already done.

Regardless, I will support whatever choice you make with this because I greatly enjoy what you've given us! :)

I'd love to see anything you create. I worry that trying to finish off this arc in a direction you don't like might cause more harm than good. You should enjoy creating as much as we enjoy reading.

Why not move the pages from the current arc to its own archive? You'll have a place where you can put scraps, aborted ideas and other things. Then you can come back to them another time, or just keep them as a memory of your growth as you write/draw this comic. Just because they're not the story you want to tell, doesn't mean they should be trashed!

Once the older ideas are out the way, you can start a fresh chapter or redo it or pick up from a point you liked. As a reader, all I want is for you to enjoy creating.

After much consideration, rounding out this chapter and then redoing the Mavelyre/Daktyls storyline before moving onto the next chapter appears to be the most prudent decision. By no means would it be good for you to get stuck on this arc and then face burnout because of it.

I love this comic, and in a way I feel like I was the pebble that started the avalanche. It would break my heart if Contested Territory suddenly became a chore rather than a labor of love. Your hand-drawn artwork drew me in the moment I read the first page. Every update is worth the wait.

Thank you for sharing your story and your artwork. You, and your gift to the world, is greatly loved and appreciated.

Hello,

This is my first time commenting here. I've been reading from the very beginning, but am not very comfortable with posting in comment sections. But your art style is beautiful, and Kithra touched my heart.

Though I strongly wonder what it would have been like to meet Ishuri instead, the girl who was and grew up as Kithra was the one who brought me a lot of joy to see. In fact, when she suddenly grew up between the chapters it was almost too sudden for me. But everything turned out nicely, seeing Kithra become a fabulous tailor like her Auntie and getting to set up her own shop in Booty Bay.

I'd like to say I'd wish for you to do whatever it is you want to do for the comic. If you truly want to redo Mavelyre and Daktyls plotline now, if that would bring you satisfaction not just in what you are presenting to us but in the creative process you yourself would enjoy in the making, I'd say that would be best. Though as others have commented, if what you are feeling is merely a nagging sensation to fix something rather than a true desire to bring something to life, I would suggest you make it a secondary priority.

It brings much relief to see you back after the hiatus, and I truly hope life is better for you now. I wish I could bring you the comfort your art has brought to me, as I've felt heavy times myself, but in those times your pencil work and characters have brought a smile to my face.

So, in the end, what I would like to see is Kithra again. What I would truly like to say is I hope you can continue the story towards Kithra's rescue. While Mavelyre and Daktyls could be wonderful characters to look into, they aren't the heart of the story.

Sorry for a long comment. I hope it was helpful, if in any way possible.

Thank you for everything.

As a reader who invests a lot in fictional characters, I say, if you are going to rewrite the story, do it, don't put it off, that will only confuse readers who are heavily into the storyline. Also, be abundantly clear as to how far back you are rewriting, and where the real story will start.
But ultimately, this is up to you, and you should take the time if you need, to ensure this is the direction you want to go.
Loving the comic so far, keep up the good work
